As a Certified Health Coach whose primary focus is on diabetes, our lead coach, Carrie Boe, strives to create a supportive environment that enables you to articulate and achieve your wellness goals.
Throughout her education, Carrie studied the most cutting-edge dietary theories and current diabetes insights plus she's mastered highly effective coaching techniques which help you find the right lifestyle choices that work best for you and your diagnosis. Most beneficial? She also is a long-time diabetic. While she maintains excellent glucose control, Carrie completely understands the challenges you're likely experiencing.
Most approaches to healthy eating for your diabetes dwell on calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. All are very important as is a healthy fitness program. But instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, SSD coaches our clients to explore basic improvements and implement gradual changes during our work together. This applies to increasing your movement too; there is no benefit in unrealistic exercise expectations.
As these positive components build, our clients find the changes collectively create a much larger impact than they originally expected. We work on what YOU choose to improve and stay within the realities of your unique situation as well as the recommendations prescribed by your personal physicians and certified diabetes educators.
